Privacy policy

Short version: we collect as little as possible.

The Brain File Generator

The generator runs entirely in your browser. What you type is never sent to our servers. It is saved in your browser's local storage so your answers are still there next time; click "Reset to defaults" or clear your site data to remove it.

Newsletter

The BrainStack newsletter is run on Buttondown. When you subscribe, your email address (and which page you signed up from) is sent to Buttondown, which stores it, sends you a confirmation email, delivers the newsletter, and handles unsubscribes. You won't be added until you click the link in that confirmation email. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link.

We also keep a backup copy of your email address, signup date, and signup page in our own storage on Cloudflare, used only to protect the list against loss. We never sell or share your email. To have your address deleted from both places, unsubscribe and write to brainstack@mail.grokbot.com.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details. We don't use advertising trackers or third-party cookies.

Sponsors

Sponsor placements are plain links. Sponsors do not receive any reader data from us.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
